I know it's all about the iPhone 5 right now, but can I get some love from my fellow stupidphone users? The one and only smartphone model I ever owned was the BlackBerry Storm. And yes, the Storm was a really cool piece of tech back in 2008/2009 (especially with the clicky screen for touchscreen typing). But I eventually found that I wasn't using its smartphone functionality anywhere near enough to justify the cost of a data plan, so I decided to go with the Samsung Convoy.
My Convoy has been great. It's a rugged phone, so I've never had to buy a case for it like I did with the Storm (an Otterbox Defender case that made it feel like a small brick in my pocket). I accidentally dropped my Convoy once from chest height (I'm 6'4", so you can probably approximate my chest height) onto concrete; and other than a tiny amount of scrape damage to the exterior, it was perfectly fine.
If I decide to upgrade when I'm eligible in January, it'll probably be to the Convoy 2 ( http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones/SCH-U660CNAVZW ). I just don't want to carry around one of those huge smartphones in my pocket all day, and I definitely don't want to pay for some overpriced, severely limited data plan. If I want smartphone functionality and then some, I'll just get a tablet (maybe the 7" Kindle Fire HD).
